Connect Google Ads to ChatGPT

ChatGPT can work with your Google Ads accounts through MCP, the open standard for connecting AI assistants to real tools. Adplane is a hosted Google Ads MCP server: no server to run, no API key, no developer token. Add it as a custom connector and ask about your campaigns in plain language.

Setting it up

  1. Go to adplane.ai and sign in with the Google account you already use for Google Ads. Every Google Ads account you can access is connected automatically.
  2. In ChatGPT, enable developer mode in settings. Custom connectors are available on plans that support them.
  3. Add a new connector with this URL: https://mcp.adplane.ai
  4. ChatGPT sends you through a one time approval where you sign in to Adplane. After that the tools are available in your conversations.

You should get your accounts back with IDs, names, and currencies. From there, reporting and campaign management both work the same way they do in Claude: ask questions, get answers from live data, and describe changes you want made.

What keeps your spend safe

The safety model does not depend on which assistant you use, because it is enforced by the server:

  • Created paused, always. Nothing Adplane creates can serve or spend until you explicitly turn it on.
  • One deliberate path to spending. A single update tool is the one way to enable anything.
  • No bulk operations, guarded delete. Removal works on never spent campaigns, nothing else.
  • Every change read back. Adplane reports what Google actually stored, not what was requested.

Frequently asked questions

Does ChatGPT support Google Ads?

Not natively, but ChatGPT can use MCP connectors in developer mode. Adplane is a hosted Google Ads MCP server: add https://mcp.adplane.ai as a custom connector, sign in with Google, and ChatGPT can read your reporting data and, when you ask, build and change campaigns.

Do I need an API key or developer token?

No. Adplane is fully hosted and uses its own approved Google Ads API access. You sign in with the Google account you already use for Google Ads and every account you can access is connected automatically.

Can ChatGPT spend my budget?

Nothing spends without you. Everything Adplane creates starts paused, a single update tool is the one path to enabling anything, and deleting is limited to campaigns that have never spent. Every change is read back from Google before it is reported as done.

Does the same connector work in Claude?

Yes. Claude connects in one click from the Claude connector directory, and Cursor, Claude Code, and other MCP clients with OAuth support use the same URL as ChatGPT.
